ROUND 22 POWERADE STAR SEARCH AWARD

Congratulations to Brad Helbig of West Adelaide Football Club, Round 22 Powerade Star Search Award.

The 18 year old from Waikerie made his League debut against South Adelaide.

He picked up 11 kicks, four marks and two handballs and took the footy inside 50 six times with precision, setting up regular scoring opportunities.

Judges said his speed, decision making and use of the football were highlights.

ABOUT THE POWERADE STAR SEARCH AWARD
The Powerade Star Search Award recognises the talented youngsters making their mark in League ranks.

To be eligible for the award, nominees are required to meet the following criteria:

• players must have played no more than eight State League games at the start of the 2010 season

• players must be aged 21 or under at January 1, 2010

• AFL rookies are eligible for the award unless promoted to the senior list of their AFL club

• Players who are suspended by the tribunal during the 2010 season are ineligible to win the award

On the completion of the minor round, one of the 23 nominees will be chosen by the review panel as the 2010 Powerade Star Search Award winner.  The award carries a winner’s purse of $2000.
