Round 17: V Eagles at City Mazda Stadium
Our opponents coped with the drizzling rain conditions in the 1st half, whereas we were unable to adapt and allowed them to control play. At the long break, they led 12goals 4 to our 3goals 2.
The Coach was disappointed with the effort as we did not show any intensity in our play. Disposals were poor and we needed to improve.
Moves were made to better our performance in the 2nd half.
Whilst the rain stopped for the 2nd half, we were still not allowed to play our game and opponents continued to have the better of play. They ran out winners with 22goals 13 to our 8goals 4.
The backs tried hard but we struggled to have consistent winners over the ground.
Best players: Cameron Long was our best. He played well in ruck for the 1st half and then was moved to CHB to restrict movement through the corridor, Billy Keenan worked hard and was 2nd best whilst Michael Minuzzo and Kane Pedler continue with their consistent play, week to week.
Goals: Billy Keenan with 2 and singles to Hassan Ahmat-Watkins, Kaiden Brand, Tom Carter, Ed Keenan, Michael Minuzzo and Rhys Smelt.
Next week we have North at home and again it is a 5.00pm start. We need to re-focus and apply ourselves for this game.
