Round 16: V Centrals City Mazda Stadium

With College boys available, 3 boys back from Reserves duty and 2 back from injury we fielded our best side for many weeks and were going into this game with much confidence.

Whilst the 1st quarter was an even contest, in the 2nd quarter we started to control the game and with attacking play we scored 9goals 3 to lead at the long break with 13goals 6 to 6goals 5 by Centrals.

The Coach was pleased with our tackle, clearance and inside 50 counts. Every one was playing their role to perfection and he asked for this to continue in the 2nd half.

We did not let up and continued to control play adding 5goals 1 in the 3rd quarter and a further 8goals 2 in the last quarter to finish the game with our highest ever score of 26goals 9 to 11goals 8 by Centrals.

It was a complete 4 quarter effort, tackling was a feature, clearances were good and the back 6 held firm. All players either beat their opponent or broke even.

Our control of the play was confirmed by our 396 possession game.

Best players: Tom Carter played his role at CHF to perfection and controlled the forward line, Billy Keenan had a major impact in his 1st game as a forward, Oliver Johnson showed his class in an on ball role, Ed Keenan back from reserves played a captain’s role with Michael Minuzzo and Kane Pedler again being consistent in their play.

Goals: Tom Carter with 7, Billy Keenan with 6, Hassan Ahmat-Watkins and Tom Schott with 3 each, Rhys Smelt and Simon Wong with 2 each and singles to Zac Bates, Oliver Johnson and Lachlan Wilson.

Next week we play the Eagles at home for the Jake Watson Shield. This is an important win game in honour of Jake.

We will be part of a triple header with our game starting at 5.00pm.

C’mon the Bloods
