The West Adelaide Football Club would like to congratulate Mr Robert Manning in receiving “A Certificate of Appreciation to Australian Volunteers.”
Robert who is affectionately known as Bobby, is an incredibly diligent, honest, reliable and hardworking person at our Football Club and also at the Tenison Woods Primary School in Richmond.
Bobby is a loyal and professional member of the West Adelaide team, who has always completed his role with passion and a real personal touch. His greatest attribute is his ability to communicate face to face with anyone in a professional manor at all times, he shows a genuine care for those around him. Here at the football club he volunteers as the Chief Property steward for the whole club. He comes in a few times a week to ensure that all of the guernseys are properly laundered, all clothing for training staff is maintained and all equipment is returned. He does a regular stocktake of the equipment at the club.
Bobby is also the team manager for our under 18 side. He is required to ensure that the under 18’s have all of the correct equipment for game day, Liaise with opposition staff and umpires, and when games are played at home he ensures everything is opened and locked. Bobby’s positions of responsibilities within our football club have required him to liaison very closely with parents, discussing any concerns, issues, expectations rules or guidelines that might be put in place.
The West Adelaide Football Club prides itself on being an elite football club so it has high standards and high expectations. Bobby plays a massive part ensuring that our programs run smoothly. This is particularly evident when all of the equipment is maintained and ready for players and staff. If Bobby did not put in such a large amount of time in this area then there would be a huge expense to the football club in ensuring the quality of the equipment was maintained.
